Have you gone QRazy? – Marketing With QR Codes

In the past year or so QR Codes have really hit the mainstream and are certainly a hot topic right now. There are many big name brands jumping on the QR Code bandwagon, seeing them as a way to revitalize and add interest to their marketing campaigns. Their usage has increased so much that it’s hard to pick up a magazine or circular nowadays without seeing a QR Code printed somewhere within. In fact QR Code barcode scanning has increased by a whopping 4549% in Q1 2011 when compared to Q1 2010 (source link).

There are people who have very different opinions when it comes to QR Codes. Some see them as a complete waste of time, others have embraced them and are seeing great success with their use. With the popularity and rapid growth of smart phone usage in recent years, many more people now have access to bar-code scanning apps, so why not try to implement them in your current marketing efforts. QR Codes can be a great way to help you spread your marketing message and add interest to your marketing materials. In my opinion QR Codes can be a great addition to your marketing arsenal and anything that can make you stand out from the other guy has to be a benefit.

To make it super easy for you to use QR Codes on your marketing materials we have added a neat little feature to our design tool that enables you to add your very own custom QR Code to any of our products! You can now add QR Codes on our signs, banners, decals, business cards, flyers and more!

Here’s how:

  1. Choose your product and enter our online design tool
  2. Click the “ADD IMAGE” button at the top of the tool
  3. Choose the “Add QR Barcode” option and fill out your QR Code information
  4. Hit the submit button and viola! Your custom QR Code has been added to your product

Once you have finished customizing your product simply click the continue button, add it to your cart, complete the checkout process, pour yourself a cup of joe and sit back and relax while you wait for your product to arrive!

You can use a QR Code to display contact information, send an SMS, dial a phone number, display a message, send an email, browse to a website or access a Wi-Fi hotspot.

What’s a QR Code?

A QR Code is a two-dimensional barcode which is readable using a smart phone application or dedicated QR barcode reader. Once the code has been scanned it can direct people to a webpage, display test, contact information, load a video or other data.

Until next time…
